Independence-day Eve

Ha-ha,

Now for some truly self indulgent Blogging from Rob.
My birthday!! I had a truly wonderful day. I began with a lazy start (as all good days do...), opened my cards and presents (which were GREAT), Lucy and I then went to 'Go Ape' in Cannock Chase - Harnessed up and then swinging in the trees on an aerial assault course. Check out www.goape.co.uk to find out what I mean. Later on, we got dressed up and went to an open-air production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night at Stafford's Castle which was also excellent!!
The next day was just as exciting, as we went clay pigeon shooting, and is was a real blast! [see what I did there?] I was particularly pleased as I've never been before but the instructor was shocked how good I was - I hit over 40 of my 50 shots- I have been struggling to get my head through doorways ever since!!
My 'main' present was my new Pentax K-m DSLR, which is brilliant! I have been taking many pictures since opening it (except sadly, on my Birthday as I couldn't take it with me up the trees!)

Here are just a few of the many...

Mock-orange flowers...

And a Sparrow hunting for Aphids...

In fact after taking 'hundreds' of pictures some of the household were starting to get a little bored of it all...

Anyway, I'd better stop there - wasting valuable time - I could be taking photographs, or making some noise with my new guitar amp....
